The Tapestry

The Tapestry

tapestry

A tapestry of ilk,
a gold threaded artistry
of myriad coloured silk;
time frozen in sumptuous light,
to evoke lives in memory’s echo.

Each stitch, each floury of artful grace,
like the tender touch from a lover’s embrace,
and form just reflections of beauty held,
in days long gone but in hearts beheld
of love.

Each coat, each shoe and hat adorned to match,
as elegant figures in day’s purpose catch,
the moments of joyful daily life,
in times removed from the present,
yet still echoing in an artist’s hands.

How I love these works,
these reflections of life passed,
resounding in minds and hearts, still,
centuries long lost to times avail,
yet held, understood and admired eternally.

They shine, in subtle hues and gold,
inspiring all who know what they hold,
in images true of fervent life and struggle,
just as we today undertake our journey,
questioning eyes, still looking into infinite skies.

Your poetry is always beautifully adorned in magical verse, colorful scenes and a tapestry of brilliancy. Well done Tony, I admire your work.
