Storm Goddess

Storm Goddess

HMS. “Rose”,  the ship my ancestors arrived in America on.

Goddess of storms  my lady are you not
but a tease for all of man
as you roll your thunder across high open seas
or gentle rain across open land

You awaken me into the thrill of night stealing
my heart disturbing my slumber
with a cry from the bottom of your soul
and I do hear your voice in the thunder

You lull me into easy submission  with a
gently falling snow
and then melt away in  quiet morning hours
though I wonder where you go

I have seen your anger too these twisting skies the
tearing winds leaving destruction in it’s path
yet give me the mystique of your loving magic
knowing all your potential for wrath

But take me if you will here in the mountains
or there on the highest seas
for I am you’re lover forever
a fool for your every tease

Sometime in my life I started to write about my life journey , in poetry, in storyperhaps to sort them out and enter them intoa place of safe keeping . The soul of the writeris perhaps best described in their words , emotions and thoughts . If these poemsor stories touch something inside youthen maybe I have succeeded in sharing . I will not write about my selfin profile , because self isn't so important in writing . Only the journey in wordsandthe sharing areimportant . Why would weever say " Now about me !"........I'd rather write about life , nature , serenity ........

I could hear the thunder in the distance building, see this beautiful ship setting her sails and readying her crew for the onslaught of a vicious storm, the sea can be the most ruthless, angry, bitter and deadliest when a storm hangs over her. You described the beauty and the ugly of it. I prefer the beautiful side of a sea, would never want to be caught up in a storm, I get sea sick easily. Nicely penned Ed.

Some lovely imagery Ed and great phrasing in this eloquent piece so well penned and evocative. Storms are such wondrous things in reality or metaphor and here you have used your words with precision and grace. Great work
